Energy Code Compliance
Both Pennsylvania and New Jersey are now enforcing the 2015
International Residential Code (IRC) and 2015
International Energy Conservation Code (IECC) for residential new
construction projects up to 3-stories in height. These codes require that buildings pass
duct leakage and envelope leakage (blower door) tests. They also
require continuously operating mechanical ventilation systems.
Note: Multifamily projects that are 4+ stories must
comply with the 2015 International Building Code (IBC), except in
Philadelphia, where the 2018 IBC has been adopted. These codes
do not include mandatory testing.
Bone Energy Services can help builders and contractors comply
with these requirements. Services we offer include:
- Prescriptive/UA Tradeoff Analysis and Documentation
- Architectural Design Consulting
- Ventilation System Design
- Contractor Training
- Air Sealing and Duct Sealing Inspection
- Envelope Leakage Testing (Blower Door Test)
