Philadelphia’s Energy Benchmarking and Disclosure Law requires large commercial and multifamily buildings
50,000 square feet and larger to report their energy and water usage annually using ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager®.
Some of the key components of the regulation are:
The annual deadline is June 30th for previous year’s energy and water usage.
Owners must request tenant utility data for the previous calendar
year each February.
Penalties can include a fine of $300 for failure to comply during the first 30 days after June 30 and
additional fines of $100 per day after that.
