Philadelphia Energy Benchmarking
Philadelphia’s Energy Benchmarking and Disclosure Law requires large commercial and multifamily buildings 50,000 square feet and larger to report their energy and water usage annually using ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager®. Some of the key components of the regulation are:
- The annual deadline is June 30th for previous year’s energy and water usage.
- Owners must request tenant utility data for the previous calendar year each February.
- Penalties can include a fine of $300 for failure to comply during the first 30 days after June 30 and additional fines of $100 per day after that.
